International UNESCO cities meeting in Kanazawa (Japan)

Every year the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) organises a meeting to bring together all the world’s Creative Cities in the seven fields into which the network is organised. In 2015 this meeting was held on 25–28 May in Kanazawa (Japan), a UNESCO City of Crafts and Traditional Arts. Granada was represented by Jesús Ortega, director of the city’s UCCN programme.

The meeting gave him the opportunity to meet his counterparts from the other Cities of Literature in the network, drawing up an agenda for meetings and the sharing of experiences, ideas, organisational methodologies and potential partnerships. For both the Cities of Literature subgroup and the world group as a whole, the city of Granada presented the activities undertaken by our programme in the first half of 2015 and participated in the  discussions on the conclusions of the Kanazawa meeting.
