Rodrigo García Marina at «Sábado en armas»
On Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 12:30 p.m., in the Workshop Room of the Centro Federico García Lorca, a new meeting of the poetry reading series “Sábado en armas” will take place. On this occasion, the event will be attended by the Madrid poet Rodrigo García Marina.

Rodrigo García Marina
Rodrigo García Marina (Madrid, 1996). He studied viola at the Conservatorio Profesional de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. He studied Medicine, Philosophy and the Master’s Degree in Theory and Criticism at the Carlos III University. He has worked as an editor for Editorial Cántico, being director of the imprint Culpables. He is currently a Resident Nephrologist at the Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón. He has published the following titles: La caricia de las amapolas (Saulo Torón Prize, 2015), Aureus (Irreconciliables Poetry Prize), Edad (Tino Barriuso Prize), Desear la casa and Los prodigiosos gatos monteses. His performative work is based on the analysis of sexual violence, sadomasochism and queer corporeality, he has developed it in spaces such as Conde Duque, the Autumn Festival of the Community of Madrid or Reina Sofia Museum, among others.

Markel Hernández Pérez (Arrigorriaga, Vizcaya, 1997) is writing his thesis on political commitment in Spanish theater at the University of Granada. He collaborates with the Granada-based company Mitra Teatro, with which he has premiered Cuerpos mutados a partir de Las metamorfosis de Ovidio and (re)Cuentos de la Alhambra. He has written other dramatic works including Tabú: las cosas que nunca dijimos (III Premio de Microteatro de La Malhablada, 2017), Vivir de alquiler (LV Premio de Literatura Dramática Kutxa Ciudad de San Sebastián, Algaida, 2020), El orden natural (Fundación SGAE, 2022), Ángel con grandes alas de cadenas, Marilluvia, Esperanto, Desnudarse, Gata Luna (Arteria Producciones, 2023), Muro de piedra and Mars One (2023). He was the winner of the IX edition of the Ucopoética Award and has published the poetry book Restos arqueológicos (2023).
