María Ángeles Pérez López at «Sábado en armas»
On Saturday, March 9, at 12:30 p.m., in the Workshop Room of the Federico García Lorca Center, a new meeting will take place within the framework of the poetry cycleo f poetry readings “Saturday in arms”. On this occasion, we received the visit of María Ángeles Pérez López, winner of the National Critics’ Prize for Spanish poetry for her collection of poems Incendio mineral (Vaso Roto, 2021).
“Sábado en armas” is organized by Asociación del Diente de Oro and Granada UNESCO City of Literature Office. Collaborator: Centro Federico García Lorca.
María Ángeles Pérez López
María Ángeles Pérez López (Valladolid, 1967). Poet and professor at the University of Salamanca, where she coordinates the Chile Chair and works on contemporary poetry in Spanish.
Anthologies of her work have been published in Caracas, Mexico City, Quito, New York, Monterrey, Bogota, Lima and Buenos Aires. Also, bilingually, in Italy and Portugal. His book Carnalidad del frío has been published bilingually in Brazil and the United States. The New York Poetry Press edition (Carnality of Cold) has received Honorable Mention in the International Latino Book Awards 2023.
Incendio mineral (Vaso Roto, 2021) received the Premio Nacional de la Crítica de poesía castellana. Libro mediterráneo de los muertos (Pre-textos, 2023) won the Margarita Hierro Prize, awarded by the José Hierro Foundation. She is a member of the “Genialogías” Association, dedicated to recognizing the legacy of women poets.
