“A conversation about literature in Manchester”, with Michael Schmidt and Jo Flynn at FLG 2024

As part of the activities developed by the Granada UNESCO City of Literature program at the Granada Book Fair 2024, and with Manchester as a guest Unesco city, will take place on Saturday April 20 at 7:00 pm in the Granada Pavilion, “A conversation on literature in Manchester”, with the presence of Michael Schmidt (writer, founder and Editorial Director of Carcanet) and Jo Flyn (Director of Communication of Manchester UNESCO City of Literature).


The event will have simultaneous translation and free admission until full capacity is reached.

Michael Schmidt is the founder and editorial director of Carcanet and the magazine PN Review. He is a literary historian and poet and a translator of Nahuatl poetry, Octavio Paz and Homero Aridjis among others. Spanish, Catalan and Latin American authors he has published at Carcanet include: Homero Aridjis, Coral Bracho, Ernest Farres, Pere Gimferrer, Dario Jaramillo, Federico Garcia Lorca, Dulce Maria Loynaz, Pablo Neruda, Octavio Paz, Manuel Vilas.
