The International Writers in Residence Programme in Granada is a joint project of Granada Unesco City of Literature and the University of Granada (through, among others, the University Extension Secretariat). It was created in 2017, as a result of the fertile exchange of ideas brought about by the designation of Granada as a Unesco Creative City in the field of Literature. Granada was, after Prague and Krakow, the third Unesco City of Literature to launch its own international programme of writers’ residencies.
Granada is also the only Andalusian city to offer a programme of this kind at the municipal level.
Aimed at writers and translators living in any country and writing in any language, the 2024 edition of the Granada residency offers a one-month stay for two authors at the Corrala de Santiago of the University of Granada, from 4 November to 3 December.
The jury’s decision will be announced on 24 July, on the Granada Unesco City of Literature website (www.granadaciudaddeliteratura.com).
